100th DAY

Before with Hair
Aaron turned on the clippers and Henry started crying:(
So far so good. He's not happy but he was really sleepy.
Almost done!
Look at my big boy sitting up in his bumbo chair!
Nai Nai giving Henry his red envelope. In our culture it's called HONG BAO. You put $ in it. More money for his college fund.
Henry and Daddy. Two handsome guys. I am very lucky!
Nai Nai and Yei Yei with Henry and Aaron.
Grandma with Henry and Daddy.
And us...our little family.

Today was Henry's 100th day from when he was born. In our Taiwanese culture you shave the babies head for it to grow out thicker and fuller. Henry was very fussy but he was also really tired. He cried the minute the clippers were turned on. Overall, Henry did really well. When it was all done Henry fell asleep very quickly.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Daddy opening up his present from Mommy and Henry.
He got a new suit for work.

Henry just woke up and hanging out by the tree listening to Christmas music.
Henry loves the lights!
Our tree
Look at the snow. Henry got a White Christmas for his present.
Outside our front door step. Too cold to take picture of our house.
Henry last night at Yei Yei & Nai Nai's home. We bundled him up because we were leaving for the evening. The temperature dropped in NWA.
Henry's first snowball at Yei Yei & Nai Nai's home.
Most kids can't sleep because they are waiting for Santa. Henry doesn't care!
Henry watching Nai Nai cook and Daddy posing for me.
Any resemblance?
Our sweet baby, so happy!

We had a quiet Christmas Eve this year. We ate at Yei Yei and Nai Nai home. My sweet sister and her little family traveled all day from Houston and still didn't make it home. The roads in Oklahoma were really bad. They even did a 360 on the highway. How scary is that with two small children and two dogs and mommy and daddy? They drove in the nasty weather for 14 hours yesterday or more and finally stopped in Alma, AR. The kicker is they all have been really sick too like with high fever. So they are truly little troopers! Santa will be coming to Yei Yei and Nai Nai home later this year.

Aaron, Henry and I so far are having a relaxing Christmas Day. We opened presents and had a big breakfast. Aaron got Super Mario Bros for the Wii so he's about to start playing. He might want to skip lunch because he's going to have so much fun!

Martin Family Christmas

We have everyone except for Uncle David. He's still in KC working hard. We will see him after the Christmas holiday season.
Proud Grandparents!

We had a wonderful, wonderful Christmas this year. Henry's very first Christmas. Henry got so many wonderful gifts and we did too!

We had a yummy dinner prepared by Grandma and Grandpa Martin and a wonderful dessert Sticky Toffee Pudding something Aaron remembered from his childhood so he ordered it.

Thank you all for making it soooo memorable for Aaron and I. We will tell Henry all about it one day.

Love, The Martin's

Quilt given to us from The Martin's in Dublin, CA
Uncle Steve, Aunt Cindy, Cousins Jamie, Stephanie and Gavin
Who can guess what this quilt resembles?
It's the 12 days of Christmas......Duh!

On the twelfth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me
Twelve drummers drumming, Eleven pipers piping, Ten lords a-leaping, Nine ladies dancing, Eight maids a-milking, Seven swans a-swimming, Six geese a-laying, Five golden rings, Four calling birds, Three French hens, Two turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree!

This quilt is sooo pretty. I wish you all could see it in person. I grew up in the south and never had quilts. Chinese people just didn't have quilts but I always wanted them and now I have them. Yea!!!!

My daddy, my hubby and my baby!

Something New....

This is something new I got for Henry. It's his Christmas present but we already hung it up in his room. I wanted something with Henry's name in his room on a wall, but I didn't want just letters. When I saw her work, it just clicked and knew I had to use her.

The top line has Henry's stats and the bottom has a quote. It says, "WE MADE A WISH....AND YOU CAME TRUE!"

Houston Trip -- November 2009

Loving on our boys!
Sissy loving on Henry
My sister and Henry
Baby Henry exhausted. First trip to Houston Chinatown.
Mom, Me and Sharon
Meet the family at Shanghai Restaurant for lunch
My Cousins
Sharon and Henry
Daddy and Henry
My nephews, Steve and Dad
Grandparents with the boys excluding Didi.

This year was the first Thanksgiving holiday time frame I have been able to travel and the very first time for my parents to travel together to see my sister and her family. My parents have sold the business so we all travel down to Houston to see my sister and her sweet family and my cousins. Henry did awesome on the trip down and back. Seriously....he really was an angel in the car. I wouldn't lie. Trust me!

Henry did something new this weekend. He's sleeping through the night! He's such a good boy.

Otto and Silas my nephews loved playing with Uncle Aaron, Yei Yei and Nai Nai. It's soooo neat to see the boys interact with everyone. We don't see them enough so it was really a special time for all of us.
