The Day After

We are in the Pre-Op are at North Hills. The staff were all so great to us. Henry was playing before taken back with Dr. Manning.

Henry had tubes put in the day after his birthday. He did well. The process was very quick however the crying and screaming after his recovery was AWFUL. He cried for like 45 minutes just while we were there. The minute we came home Aaron took him for a walk. He calmed down and even fell asleep in A's arms when they were sitting at the pond watching the water. He maybe took a 45 minutes nap all day. This kid was wired and happy the entire day. He's such a champ. Later that afternoon we went to Daddy's office to hang out. We had a great time playing with Miss Laura. Miss Brandy W. was there too. Later we went to see Henry's tree. Grandpa and I were taking lots of pictures with him at the tree. He had fun and actually didn't want to leave the tree. It was so cute.

Well we hit a milestone this past week. Our baby boy turned one year old. I really don't even know what to think besides time has flown by. I know I say that a lot but really...it has. I guess people with children would believe me. I love Henry and I love love love being a momma. It's tough but I love challenges.

On Monday, 9/20 we went and visited an ENT Dr for consult to get tubes for his ears because since Jan '10 Henry has had six ear infections. Dr said, "What about Thursday?" I was like sure thinking it was the following Thursday. Nope, he meant this past Thursday. We were like let's do it and Happy Birthday Henry. What a wonderful gift the day after his birthday.

Henry had a great first birthday on Wednesday, 9/22. He woke up super happy without a whole lot of sleep. This past few weeks Henry has been teething super bad so he hasn't been sleeping well. We started out our day going to the North Hills Surgery Clinic to pre-register him for out patient surgery then we went to the Willow Creek hospital to visit Kim, Buck and Baby Kate. She was born on Tuesday, 9/21. Miss Kate was so pretty. Looks like an angel! Then we went home and picked up Uncle Jamie and Aunt Melissa so we can all go to Henry's birthday party at Chick-Fil-A. Henry had a great time playing in the play area. Henry ate really well and was really good until we brought out his smash cake. He didn't want anything to do with that cake. After his party we came home and Henry was still up so we let him open his presents. He loved opening his presents and playing with his toys. He got so many great things.

Thank you all for making his birthday such a wonderful day for our little boy.

Wednesday night we took Henry to see Mr. Johnny Sr for his first haircut with him. Henry did so well. He didn't cry or whine. Grandpa and Grandma Martin came to see the event too. Henry was so curious to what Mr. Johnny was doing to him. We undressed him down to his diaper and sat on this booster. Aaron and I took turns holding him down since we all know our boy has no fear. He would have tried to get down. After his cut we praised him!

His birthday is quickly approaching. We are just going to have a simple little party at Chick Fil A. We are going to have a very special guests there (Jamie and Melissa). Jamie is Aaron's Counsin. They are coming to visit us for one week. Melissa first time to AR. Lots of pictures to look forward too!

So our precious baby is about to be one year old in 10 days. We are in the process of getting Henry changed to his new classroom at school. Henry is going to be joining all the Toddlers full time next week. He's been in the Early Ts for some time now. The teachers tell us he loves to play with puzzles and sit at the table like a big boy.

We have an ENT appointment next week to get tubes. I think this will be Aaron and I's saving grace. We both need sleep. We just got done treating his sixth ear infection and then discovered he had trush from his antibiotics.

We have been super busy so again I apologize for not updating. I will update you all in about one week with all his birthday pictures and his second haircut.
